Escamillo // Ricardo Rivera
Carmen in a new 120-minute-long arrangement by conductor, Daniel Schlosberg, adapted by director, Louisa Proske who distilled the action to just the four main characters with the addition of two non-singing roles.
This new arrangement of Carmen has been scored for saxophone, acoustic/electric guitar, double bass, acoustic/electric violin, drum kit, piano, and organ. The conductor and musical director, Daniel Schlosberg, who also reorchestrated the adaptation, will play piano and organ in the performance similarly to how conductors during the baroque period, and in some cases today of operas with continuo, would lead the orchestra from a harpsichord in the pit.
